A small group of bikers well past school leaving age (20-odd to 50-something) who ride for fun every weekend and on at least one night through the week during the summer. Our backgrounds vary a little although some of us have known each other for quite a while now.
We mainly do cross country rides which cover a great many different types of terrain including roads, bridlways, fields, moors, forest drives and the inevitable mountain. A very small majority of our startup team began their cycling days competing in the sport of Cycle Speedway so they know each other very well, while others are more recent additions to the team. Most are quite accomplished riders and one is a Triathlete who knows all about training, dedication and pain! We all have wives who ride bikes occasionally and will also be looking to encourage ladies to join us and maybe form their own section if they prefer.
Anyone is welcome to join us but initially we are looking for senior club members over the age of 18. When we become more established and produce some ride leaders we'll be better able to accommodate the younger rider, although 16s and upwards would be welcome with an adult to accompany them.
We have riders capable of leading fast rides if required, and one in particular who thrives on the very opposite! If it's rougher ground you seek that's no problem either, and if competitive MTBing is your thing, we have just the fella to offer some expert tuition. There may also be the possibility of the odd daytime midweek ride being available if there is enough demand. See our bikes here.
That's enough about us, now tell us about YOU!
Andy is your serious XC competition contact Derek is your contact for midweek, daytime rides Jason, John or Terry for other stuff.

Send an e-mail to:
info@newcastlemtb.co.uk
and tell us that you're interested, what type of riding you like to do, your approximate skill level, your age, area you live in (address not required) sex and as many other details as you dare.
We will compile the data and begin the task of categorising our new membership

Phone numbers (home or mobe) may help us to organise things, but e-mail is perfectly acceptable.
